The Power of Imagination, Belief & Conscious Creation

108 Cards | 9 Progressive Suits | Companion Guidebook

A New Approach to Conscious Creation

The Law of Assumption Oracle was inspired by my study of Neville Goddard's teachings. After listening to  hours of his live lectures and reading several of his books I was profoundly impacted by what I had learned. There is a straightforward simplicity and approachability in his work that I found inspiring and relatable, but I was also frustrated by the lack of organization within the material and concepts he taught. Although I found countless discussions of Neville's teachings, I struggled to find a single, accessible resource that organized his central principles into a progressive system for learning and practical application.

So I decided to compile, organize and condense his teachings into a concise, straightforward body of work, and present it in the form of an oracle.

The Law of Assumption Oracle is the result.

I chose to present it in the form of 108 interconnected cards organized into 9 suits of 12 cards each. The intention is that readers can work their way through the deck, one card at a time, to explore how our imagination, our assumptions, our belief, and ultimately our identity influence how we create and experience our reality. Later, they can shuffle the deck for a random card-pull to reinforce and put a particular concept into practice for that day.

Most suits follow the same structure with an introduction card followed by 10 cards that break it down into specific concepts, and end with an Embodiment card which acts as a summary of the entire suit. This gives the user additional opportunities for reflection and application of the card concepts in their life.

The front of each card presents a foundational teaching while the back gives additional insights on the subject, and encourages readers to consider how their habitual patterns might be affecting their experience. It also gives them a pointed Reflection to help them consciously cultivate new assumptions, form new identities, and integrate these principles into their everyday life.

Inside the Deck

1 - Pillars

The deck begins with 12 foundational principles or Pillars on which the Law of Assumption is based. These lay the essential groundwork for everything else that follows and include concepts like, Consciousness Creates Reality, Imagination Is The Creative Power, and Assumption Hardens Into Fact.

2 - Self-Concept

The next major topic is Self Concept and the suit is introduced on the first card by the core principle: Self-concept Is The Foundation Of Lived Experience.

The 10 cards that follow take the user further into exploring how their self-concept shapes their reality. In this suit I chose to use the Old Program / New Identity format to compare and contrast each new idea taught in that card. For example, You Become What You Assume Yourself To Be is illustrated with the Old Program: I used to look at my outer circumstances and let them tell me what was possible..." contrasted with, "I choose who I am first, then allow my life to reflect it to me."

3 - States of Consciousness

This suit introduces Neville's core principle States of Consciousness with a card that reads: A state is more than a passing mood or thought. It is an inner position shaping perception, expectation, and experience.

The 10 cards that follow again use the Old Program / New Identity format to dive deeper into what States of Consciousness are, how these affect our lived experiences, and how we can  change or alter our "states" to achieve a different outcome. Some examples are: Persisting in a State Gives it Power, and I Can Enter a New State Deliberately.

4 - The Law of Imagination

This suit introduces the idea that the Imaginal World Is Not Separate From Reality and takes a deeper dive into this principle in the 10 cards that follow. The Old Program / New Identity format was again useful in showing how concepts like Creation Begins Within and The Unseen Becomes Seen.

5 - The Creative Power of Assumption

This suit is where we get a deep dive into Neville's central teaching: The Law of Assumption. The first card introduces this core principle with Assuming the wish fulfilled establishes a new state of being, and breaks this law down into 10 specific applications, such as: Assume the Wish Fulfilled, and Assumption Hardens Into Fact. Again I used the Old Program / New Identity contrast approach to helping users test their own assumptions, and identify where and how they might be able to change them.

6 - Practices

In this suit I present 12 Practices that I distilled from Neville's teaching. These are specific, practical and easy to grasp. The front of each card presents a practice, such as Living From the End, Gratitude, and Inner Conversations, while the back gives the user additional information and an opportunity to apply that practice in their own life.

7 - Obstacles

This suit presents Neville's teaching on how to deal with and counteract the obstacles that arise when we start applying these principles to our lives. The introduction card is titled Maintaining the Chosen State. The 10 cards that follow present common challenges with a new format, Old Pattern / New Stability, which helps users reflect where they might be on the spectrum of that particular challenge in a specific situation or on a given day. Here I chose New Stability because I am operating on the assumption that they have already been putting these teachings into practice in their own lives and are now seeking to stabilize rather than adopt.

8 & 9 - Wealth & Abundance / Relationships

The last two suits are dedicated to two particular areas of life that provide both the biggest challenges and greatest rewards in their pursuit of a practical application of these principles in thier lives. Here again I've drawn on specific teachings and concepts from Neville's work and presented these in cards such as: Money Reflects Self-Concept, Receiving is Natural, and Identity Defines Abundance in suit 8.

The overarching theme of Suit 9 is Everyone Is You Pushed Out. Here we explore that concept in cards such as: Assumptions Shape Others, Rewriting the Story of Someone, and Seeing Others From the New State.

The Old Pattern / New Stability format was again a useful way to aid users in identifying their own patterns and seeing more clearly how to shift their inner states in order to more consistently inhabit their chosen assumptions.

From Concept to Creation

As an experienced Oracle and Tarot card creator and graphic designer, I have always enjoyed the process of devloping a cohesive, beautiful and compelling design. Each deck has its own voice that must be reflected in the final design, and for text-oriented Law of Assumption Oracle, I wanted a design that would elevate its use to a ritual experience. Having self-published over 20 decks I have a strong understanding of printing techniques, materials and opportunities for presentation. I worked with my printer to develop a deck that uses color spectrum, metallic reflections, and symbolic imagery to create a multidimensional visual experience that accomplishes what I intended.

While there are still refinements to make to the final product, the current prototype is a strong reflection of what I originally intended when I came up with this design. The accompanying shipping box has also been designed and prototyped, demonstrating the deck's presentation as a premium publishing product.

Companion Guidebook

A companion guidebook is in development, expanding upon the deck's teachings through additional explanations, reflection, and practical application.

The project is available for publishing representation, with final production specifications to be determined in collaboration with a publishing partner.
